We all have things we want to accomplish, dreams we are working towards and goals we want to achieve. We’ve always been taught, even in school, the harder you work the more you can achieve. But what happens along the way when you’re overloaded, you have no energy, you’re working harder and longer hours to try and get ahead and the only thing that’s happening is frustration, exhaustion and resentment. It’s called burnout and it’s a rising problem in businesses today.
Burnout can happen when you’re overloaded, you work in a toxic environment or your work life balance is out of balance and if you don’t recognize the signs of it and work to overcome burnout it can result in a downward spiral. There is hope and there are things you can do to deal with burnout and try to prevent it from happening in the future. On today’s episode I talk about my own experiences dealing with burnout and what I’ve learned along the way to get through and try to prevent it from happening.
What you’ll learn in this episode:
- What exactly is burnout and why does it happen
- What are the causes of burnout in the workplace today
- What are the signs and symptoms of burnout and how you can recognize them
- What you can do to get through burnout and start to turn things around
