We’ve all been there. For some of us, it’s a daily thing.
We run from appointment to appointment to appointment, eat a hoagie in less than 30 seconds while driving in the car, sit in meetings where you end up daydreaming, and at the end of the 10-hour day realize you got absolutely nothing done.
It is so easy to fill up our day with clutter and get stuck in the land of “everyone else’s agenda.” It’s easy for us to say “yes” to everything that comes our way because we don’t want to miss out on any opportunity. We get stuck in the pattern of answering e-mail constantly throughout the day because the notification sounds on your phone when an e-mail comes in. That blog post you wanted to write, that new website you wanted to create for your business, that graphic you wanted to create for your new brochure… it never gets done.
Stop the madness, stop the insanity, and take a deep breath. Space doesn’t create itself and distractions don’t go away by themselves. You need to take control, create the space, and remove the unwanted distractions. Distractions (people and things) are the biggest energy drains and the quickest way to lose your motivation. But there is a cure, a remedy… a magical elixir. It’s learning how to strategize your day and figure out your priorities so you can find happiness, freedom, and space to do what matters most to you. When you are clear on what is important and clear on your priorities it makes saying “no” to what isn’t important so much easier. One of the biggest distractions…constantly checking e-mail. Your inbox is a collection area for everyone else’s agenda and the biggest productivity drain. Everytime we hear the little “buzz”, “ding” or “little notification voice” telling us we have an e-mail that just came in on our phone, what do we do? We pick our phone up and check it. In order to get the most important things done that move us forward we need to learn to remove annoying distractions. Watch the video to find out more.
