Throwing money at people and the problems in your business will only continue to keep you stuck. Many believe the opposite to be true, however. They think that if they spend more money on running ads, offering more pay for someone to try and get them to do their job better, or whatever issue your business has will fix it. But if the issues are systematic and stem from the core of your business, you’ll continue to run into the same problems time and time again.
In my early days of business, I was taught that more money had to be spent in order to find a solution. I have since come to learn over the years that it is actually very detrimental to the state of your business if you are trying to patch a wound that you don’t know how you got.
When you see problems arise around you and within your business, you have to really look at why this is happening. What can you do as a leader to either get a better system in place, make the decision to hire better staff, or simply just show up for your team to guide them where they need to go? So often are the adversities we face more about us than any outside source. And when what’s inside at the core of your business needs reconstructing, all you are doing by spending more is pouring money down the drain.
Set intention in your business. Communicate often and healthily with your staff so that you know people understand their job and what is expected of them so that if something isn’t getting done, you know that maybe this just isn’t the right person for the job.
When your community also understands your intentions and what your business brings to them, that’s more valuable marketing than any social media ad, billboard, etc. that money can buy. Come up with systems and processes within your business that allow everyone involved, staff and customers alike, to truly see your vision and can then help to make that into a reality.
