Episode 110 – Becoming a Professional Badass

Episode 110 – Becoming a Professional Badass

Ten years ago I made the decision to become a professional badass. What is that exactly, you might ask? It’s making the decision to take hold of your life, create the future you’ve always wanted for yourself, and not let anything stop you or stand in your way. It’s becoming a resilient.

Business resilience is something I talk about week after week, and for good reason. It’s probably the most important thing you can have as an entrepreneur: the ability to power through any adversity that comes your way and still be standing strong on the other side. But how does a business become resilient?

Many big corporations will have what’s called business continuity, in other words, a plan for how the business is going to continue should something go wrong, i.e. staff replacement, product loss, and so on. But what these businesses sometimes fail to establish is a solid foundation to begin with. Having a plan for when crisis hits is crucial, but even more so is a plan to build our business in such a way where we can avoid many crisis altogether.

To start constructing that foundation for yourself, you must first look at your values. What are the things that are important to your business? What does it stand for? Clearly state what these things are, communicate it out to your management team, your employees, and even your customers. Use these values as a navigation when decision making across the board and your business will be able to thrive in any condition. When messages are communicated, roles are clear, and purpose is imminent, things practically run themselves.

It all comes back to being a badass. A professional one who gets things done, knows who they are, and isn’t about to let anyone hold them back from their greatness and the good they wish to bring to the world.
