Episode 99 – My Top Tools I Use To Run My Business

Podcast

One of the most commonly asked questions I get from friends and clients is what tools do I use to help me conduct my business. Software programs, systems that I create processes from, whatever gets me through my day and on to the next so I can keep my business growing, here are some of my top favorites that I swear by:

  1. Canva – This site and app has been around for a while, and if you aren’t a graphic designer but still need to create graphics for signs, flyers, social media posts, etc., this is the perfect tool. It also syncs with a lot of other sites like Dropbox, Google Drive, LinkedIn, and a ton more so sharing is a breeze.
  2. Asana – This is one of my absolute favorites. I’ve been using Asana for a long time, and there are a lot of software out there like it, but this is by far the best. There used to be a free version that I believe has since been taken away, but the monthly cost is well, well worth what you get out of it. It helps you connect with your team, manage projects and tasks within projects, and just really keeps everyone on the same page so that your goals are more easily achieved and in a timely fashion.
  3. Slack – Similar to Asana and can also be integrated with, Slack keeps your team connected. Unlike Asana, however, this is more of a place to hold all of your conversations in threads and it categorizes them by projects, individual person, whatever you please. It’s almost like a big chatroom, but more organized.
  4. Dropbox – Another connectivity device for you and your team to share documents, files, videos, and more in real time. Everyone who is in the same shared files can view and edit anything at any time and each person will be updated so that no one is out of the loop.
  5. Loom – When anyone has a new hire, and I preach this to all of my clients, it is crucial that you have an on-boarding process for them. A process in which you can welcome them into your business, educate them on what it is you do, and explain to them their role in the business and how to do the job your way. Loom is a great tool for this. Instead of trying to explain to somebody a task or type out where to go on a certain website, Loom lets you screen record so you can easily demonstrate things on your screen, and instantly share them to anyone so that they have a visual an audio training.
  6. Ubersuggest – If you look into SEO a lot in your business, this tool is super helpful. It assists you in picking out key words or phrases for optimization, shows you how your site is performing, and give you ways to improve parts of your site that may need some updating to drive more people to it.
  7. Leadpages – Last, but certainly not least, this is the tool I use for any and all sales pages. Especially if you run Facebook or Google Ads, you want a landing page for people to end up on that help land the sale or tell a little more about the product/service. It’s also extremely user-friendly with drag-and-drop options and templates to start from, it’s almost too easy. And integrating these pages out to other platforms is no exception. Just a few clicks and your email, social media, what have you is now directing potential clients to your sales page is seconds.

There are a bunch more applications and tools that I use to help my business thrive, but these are the most important to me and I would be lost without them.
