When we as business owners first start out, our vision is in center focus. We can clearly see the future we want for ourselves and how we want to make it happen through our business. Though it seems the more and more we get into building the business, the more we lose sight of that vision. We get into this mode of staying busy, doing anything and everything with no end in sight. These tasks may seem dire, but when it comes down to it, they are holding you back from real growth.
Once we realize that we need to concentrate more on the bigger picture and stop sweating the small stuff or making excuses for them is when we can start to make the necessary changes. And the first, biggest step is to plan out your days. Really sit down and look at the three or so most important things you need to do each day to move your business forward. Plan it out so that you leave time enough for each thing, and get to the smaller things second. Also make sure that you are leaving time in that schedule before you go to bed and when you wake up to just be. To have a buffer for yourself to either wind down from the day or prepare for it with a clear head. You are the only person who needs to look out for yourself, make sure you do.
Sure, making phone calls and placing orders and posting on social media are all things that are important to your business. But in order to keep your business thriving and constantly growing, you must as well. You must grow as a person and face fears and do the things that seem hard but will be so worth it in the end. The things you’ve done or accomplished in the past that have gotten you this far, well, that’s all the more they’ll take you. The only way to reach your visions of success that you have set for yourself are to put the excuses on the back burner and dive head first into the unknown.
