With all of this chaos in the world right now, its easy to get side tracked or distracted from what you really should be focusing on. And there is always going to be times like these throughout life, but what’s important is how you handle them. Whether it’s a global pandemic or simply unhappy customers or employees, there will always be something that you’ll be dealing with in your business.
The first thing a lot of people come to me and say is “Why is this happening? Why is this happening to me?”They begin to blame outside circumstances instead of looking within to solve their problems. Instead of trying to fight all of the problems swirling around you like a storm, stand directly in the middle of it and let it calm down around you. Sometimes fighting or pushing against something will only make things worse, and you’re best bet is to wait it out and let it take you where it takes you. Nothing lasts forever, and you want to be ready to land on your feet when it’s over so you can keep moving.
When things start to feel like they are going wrong or getting out of hand, the first thing I encourage you to do is to recognize it. Don’t play into it or give it some unassociated meaning, just recognize it for what it is. When we detach from whatever it is we are facing, we are able to look at it through a different perspective instead of letting our emotions take control.
After you’ve recognized this issue, remember that there is always a solution. Anything and everything that can be thrown at you has a way out of it as well. If it breaks, we fix it. And lastly, remind yourself that it isn’t you. Whatever problem you have to deal with, whether it’s a class that didn’t go well or staff not showing up. It hasn’t anything to do with you. These things don’t happen to you, they happen for you. It’s up to you, however, to find the lesson in any adversity you face. When you do this, you aren’t feeding into the chaos and your negative emotions, but rather focusing on a way out of it. We must first see the things we don’t want to realize the things we do want, right?
With a clear mind and positive attitude, we can then start to take inspired actions towards where we want to be. We can’t and won’t ever be able to control everything and clouding your judgements with temporary emotions won’t be beneficial to you in the long run. To see the results we want in our business means taking everything with a grain of salt. The power of our own minds to manifest our dreams into reality is truly amazing, but we first need the correct mindset to get us started.
