This year has been one full of waves of emotion and change. But some of that change is something we very much needed, whether we realized it or not. It’s going to make this world a different place, a better one, if we choose to see it.
Business owners from every walk of life are struggling right now, and my clients are feeling the struggle as well. I’ve been there countless times. Maybe not this exact situation, but I’ve been through the sinking feeling and the overwhelm and feeling like I simply cannot make it work. What I tell people to remember is that you can always bet on yourself. You can always count on you to pick yourself back up out of the dirt, brush yourself off, and figure things out.
In the moment, it may not feel like anything you do will help. Anxiety and depression can weigh heavy on anyone, and when business owners get stuck in this state, bouncing back seems close to impossible. When I left my corporate job to open my own businesses, no one could have prepared me for the challenges that would come my way. No one but myself, that is.
There were extremely hard times to get through, ones that quite literally brought me to my knees. If you are having thoughts about “How can I keep going? How can I keep my dream for my business that I’ve worked so hard to build alive?”, the one thing I can tell you to always count on is yourself. Believing that you have the ability and strength to carry on and figure things out will always outweigh any marketing plan or increase in revenue that you think will save you. Only you can save you.
The mind is a powerful thing, and when we use it to our advantage, we can make wonderful things happen. We can empower those around us, uplift them and include them and make them feel important. When we create a nurturing and accepting environment, our staff will benefit, our community will benefit, and it will come back around to benefit you and the business. When you put your full attention and energy into building something you believe in, you will always win.
Believe that you can do this, because you can. You’ve done it before, and with time and effort, you can make it happen again. You will overcome this struggle; you will move forward. You just simply have to believe that it’s true and take action towards the things you really want out of life.
